Before the procedure, avoid taking blood-thinning medication unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, and do not undergo any other aggressive procedures in the treatment area. Come with clean skin, without makeup or creams.
Unlike fillers, which only cover up the problem, Sculptra activates the renewal of the collagen network from within. With age, there is a gradual loss of collagen, which is responsible for the elasticity and firmness of the skin. Sculptra targets the cause of these symptoms – collagen loss. Gradually, the body begins to produce less collagen, which leads to:
- Sunken cheeks and sagging facial contours
- Permitted sleep and loss of volume in the jaw area
- For fine to moderate wrinkles and reduced skin elasticity
- Tired-looking skin
- Sagging skin on the body (buttocks, thighs, arms)
- Improvement in skin quality on the face, neck, décolleté, and also on the body (e.g., buttocks)
- Wrinkle smoothing and facial contouring
- For people with facial volume loss (sunken cheeks, temples, jawline)
- For sagging skin and loss of elasticity
- For rejuvenating the skin of the neck, décolleté, or body (e.g., buttocks, inner thighs)
- In case of active skin infections or inflammation at the application site
- If the patient has autoimmune diseases or coagulation disorders
- If you are allergic to any of the product's ingredients
- For pregnant or breastfeeding women
During the procedure, the skin is cleansed, and then the doctor marks the area to be treated. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is then injected into the skin. The substance is gently injected under the skin into the selected areas without the need for recovery. After application, regular massage of the treated area for several days is recommended. The skin may be slightly swollen or sensitive for a few days – this is completely normal. The application is usually performed in a series of several treatments (2–3 with an interval of several weeks).
Sculptra is a modern treatment that activates your own collagen production, leading to natural wrinkle filling, improved skin elasticity, and facial volume restoration. The effect is gradual – the skin "wakes up" in 1–2 months and the results last for more than 2 years. Swelling or bruising may occur after the procedure, but these usually subside quickly. Regular massage of the treated area after the procedure is very important. Avoid intense sun exposure, saunas, and strenuous exercise for at least 48 hours after the procedure.
The treatment is minimally painful – thanks to the numbing agents in the solution and gentle injection techniques, the procedure is comfortable and well tolerated. There may be a slight feeling of pressure or burning during application, but this lasts only a moment. After treatment, there may be slight swelling or bruising, but this will quickly subside.
