On the day of treatment, the skin should be clean, free of make-up and free of active inflammation (e.g. acne or herpes). It is also advisable to avoid alcohol and intense physical exertion the day before the procedure. The treatment is not suitable for pregnant and lactating women, persons allergic to hyaluronic acid, or patients with active infection or inflammation at the site of application. Caution is also important after recent aesthetic procedures in the area - such as fillers, lasers or chemical peels - where a time gap should be maintained.
The skin is thoroughly cleansed and an anaesthetic cream is applied as required.
